Wendy “The Boss” Smith, Founder
A Brooklyn-born, Park Slope native, Wendy has had a passion for art and an eye for style since childhood. She attended New York’s High School of Art and Design, and took her degree in Fashion Illustration at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Her art background has helped Wendy to excel as a color expert, both in the salon and as a Senior National Educator for Paul Mitchell® Products. Always continuing her education, Wendy is certified in hair extensions applications, has trained at Vidal Sassoon, trains continuously with John Paul Mitchell systems, and attends as many hair shows as she can. Her cutting style is precise, with a natural feel. Wendy’s haircuts seem to last forever — which is tough for her, economically, but very appreciated by her clients.

Carlos “The Rockstar” Sanchez
Also a Brooklyn native, our resident rockstar is a meticulous hairdresser who excels at styling. Color and cuts are his specialty, and he is also certified in hair extensions applications. Carlos has earned star status through his credits in films, video and editorial photo shoots. When he’s not in the salon looking fabulous, you can find him on set, styling celebrities and other guests at shows likeThe Today Show, Good Morning America,The View, and BET, or styling models at events like Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. In his free time, Carlos loves travel, cooking, and event planning.

Patty “Miss Patty” Santos-Font
A Park Slope native, Patty loves to cut and color all types of hair. She is detailed and artistic, and loves to teach and inspire others. Patty stays ultra-current by looking at fashion magazines, fashion shows, and by attending hair classes. Patty currently attends Rasmussen College for a business management degree and is working on becoming an educator for Paul Mitchell® Products. When she’s not doing hair, she loves to sing, write songs, and spend time with family. (She also loves to dance, paint, and just be creative.) You’ll hear some of Patty’s songs on our music playlist in the salon; enjoy!

Ayaba “The Artist Formerly Known As…”
As Ayaba will tell you, hair is what she does! She specializes in all textures and lengths of hair, and keeping hair healthy and strong is her top priority, whether in natural styles or chemical applications. Ayaba loves arts and crafts, and showcases her creativity in many ways, such as making cards and waist beads. A true social creature, she loves life, and enjoys hanging with good people, traveling, dancing, and being with her family.

Karen “The Expert” Vega
Karen’s favorite services are cutting, color, and keratin straightening treatments. Karen stays up to date on the latest color and cut techniques by watching every Paul Mitchell training dvd that comes into the salon. She has taken the deva chan curly cut technique class. Men’s grooming is one of her specialties. She is a fantastic makeup artist, who trained at Estee Lauder and Benefit, and Karen has the salon’s gentlest touch in her waxing services, shaping beautiful brows. Relaxing facials are an additional service she offers. On her days off, Karen enjoys music and cooking, and watching her son beat people up at his wrestling matches.

Aisha “The Beauty Queen” Khan
Originally from Pakistan, Aisha is an expert at all things beauty, whether it’s styling, cut and color, makeup, skin care, waxing, or threading. (See Aisha for the best brows in town!). One of our sweetest stylist, you’ll often find her giggling with her guests as she works on them. Her soft low-key approach always makes them feel comfortable. Aisha also loves music, books and travel.

Raquel “The Perfectionist” Negron
Raquel, who comes from Puerto Rico, is a perfectionist! She works with all types of hair, and her perfectionism is very obvious in the beautiful finished products that walk out Salon Bohemia’s door. Her blowouts and iron work are impeccable. Raquel’s favorite services are relaxers and cutting, and she gets her inspiration watching novelas, talk shows, and movies.

Nicole “Take Charge” Bedford
A graduate of The Paul Mitchell Academy, Nicole’s goal in life is to wear the ultimate shade of blonde. She is a talented new stylist whose current specialties are keratin treatments, cutting, and highlights, and who is also certified in hair extensions applications. When she’s not with clients, you’ll find Nicole working on our displays around the salon, or thinking up great new promotions and services to add to our menu.

RISING STARS

Jessica “The Princess” Long
Also a graduate of The Paul Mitchell Academy, Jessica is one of our makeup specialists. She loves makeup because she enjoys making people look — and more importantly, feel — beautiful. Jessica’s other passion is coloring hair. She believes that, when you change the color of someone’s hair, you can showcase their individuality. She is certified in hair extensions applications and loves doing them. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, baking delicious treats, and scrapbooking.

David “Don’t Call Me a Hipster” McDaniel
David, a graduate of the Aveda Academy in Minnesota, has many talents. He writes, plays guitar, sings in a band, and DJ’s. Currently, his favorite thing to do in the salon (besides assist Wendy) is cut hair, but he does a pretty fabulous blowout, as well, and doesn’t believe in limiting himself. David enjoys long walks on the beach. He dislikes smokers and phonies.

Melody “The Newbie” Anglero
Our newest rising star has an eye for style that makes her a natural fit at Salon Bohemia. When not at the salon, she feeds her passion for fashion by making clothes.
